Green Design Principles Training
The course is a whole day introduction to green building design. It will give the attendants basic practical knowledge for the design of green and energy efficient buildings, from the early design stages to more advanced analysis. The first part of the course will focus around bioclimatic building design including an understanding of wind flows, natural ventilation, sunlight, daylight and how to take into account these elements in the design process to achieve better energy efficiency, whilst also achieving a comfortable and economically viable building. Some of the IT and simulation tools available for design will be discussed. The second part of the course will discuss green buildings in a more general way, and introduce methods to achieve high environmental performance. The most famous green rating and certification systems, such as LEED and BREEAM will be presented. The format of the course will include theory, interactive discussions and workshops.
Course Level
The course is adapted to those with basic knowledge of green design in its application and wishing to gain a practical understanding of how to implement green design along the development of a project.
Objectives
- Provide practical instructions on the tools for achieving higher energy efficiency, high quality buildings, with less detrimental impact on the environment.
- Facilitate the greater collaboration necessary between architects, engineers, project managers, and other solution providers for exemplary green construction projects.
The course will be in English.
The prices for attending this course are:
DGBC participant – 300 Euro
Non-member – 500 Euro
